I know it’s more typical to take the tour of holiday decorations at night when you can spy the best by the lights they shine, but I love to see which decorations still look great in the morning.
Check out these wonderful decorations I spotted off School Street, on one of the side roads between Stanley Middle School and Lafayette Elementary. I love everything about the decorations – from the detailed Toy Factory with Elves to the sled on the fake snow.

My favorite part is the long list of “helpers” that personalize the whole holiday tableaux for the home’s family. What’s yours?
What a wonderous welcome this must be for relatives as they drive towards the house at Christmas. Does each look for their name on the list the way my siblings and I spy for the personalized angel and choir boy ornaments that have hung on our parents’ tree since I was three years old?
The birth of each new child in this family must mean that a new “elf” is born whose name must be added to the list.
I have to admit, I am a little concerned about the inserted names on black instead of the typical red writing on white… what does this mean? Perhaps these are not relatives at all, but simply all the neighbor children. Could it be that when someone moves, you are somehow removed?
Hmmm…. inquiring holiday minds would like to know. If you have the answer, please share!
What’s happening with decorations in the yards of your neighborhood… any must-see decorations?
What holiday decorations are you noticing in your neighborhood?
