Contestants Walk in the Last Lafayette Shop Lafayette Holiday Entries

Tamara Selving Turning in her 2011 Shop Lafayette Contest Entry

"I could have entered three times more." - Tamara Selvig

The deadline was on us today and that promted several people to walk into the Chamber offices with their Shop Local entries.

“I could have entered three times more,” said Tamara Selvig, who chose some of her favorites to include with the entry: Whole foods (‘my home away from home’), CVS, and Strictly Foreign, where she’d gotten her car’s smog check.

A few minutes later, Lafayette-resident Caroline Conner walked in with her entry, which included receipts from Madison, Color Me Mine, Orchard Nursery, Wolf Camera, CVS , and Hank and Frank.

Lafayette resident Caroline Conner turns in her entry for the 2011 Shop Lafayette Holiday Contest

"I love the options we have in Lafayette." -- Caroline Conner.

Color Me Mine is a particular family favorite and relatives often benefit. Explained Conner:

“I have two little girls. They love arts and crafts. Every Christmas time, we find ourselves figuring out which relatives need a new homemade gift.”

The Conner family lives walking distance to downtown Lafayette, which makes it easy to explore what’s here.

“You think it’s more lmiiting than it is,” said Conner. “There are lots of hidden treasures here.”

So true! What are some of your favorites? Please share!

Good luck to everyone who entered the first ever Lafayette Chamber Shop Local Holiday Contest…
